Bakersville is a very unique, gingerbread village that is celebrating its 27th year at the Scugog Memorial Public Library in Port Perry. Members of the community make gingerbread houses for display, and when trees, figurines, animation, twinkle lights and artificial snow are added, the village comes alive and becomes very magical.

It is a treat for the entire family and is FREE! The display opens December 7th and closes on January 5th in the Kent Farndale Gallery of the Library. Hours are: MON/WED/FRI 10am-6pm, TUES/THURS: 10am-9pm, SAT: 10am-5pm & SUN: 1pm-5pm. Closed Dec. 24th -26th & January 1;  Dec 31 closed at 5pm.

Thanks to our sponsors: Missisaugas Of Scugog Island First Nation and The Township of Scugog, and our library admin and staff who allow us to host this very popular event.

Make Port Perry your holiday destination and enjoy free carriage rides, sponsored by the BIA and Chamber of Commerce, shop the quaint downtown stores and enjoy a fabulous meal at one of our many great restaurants or check out the baked goods in our many bake shops. The waterfront is a great place to enjoy with the lights in Palmer Park. Plus, during the first three weeks of December, the library hosts the annual Snowflake Sale, that has lots of crafts by artisans along with other wonderful products. Come and visit: its a  nice way to spend a winter day!
