Bring the family out for our Canada Day celebrations. For 2025, the Newcastle Canada Day committee is planning a bigger event from 12-6pm! In Downtown Newcastle, Ontario, we will have a street festival with vendors and artisans, a food alley, a beer garden, live musical entertainment, cultural showcase performances on the Diversity Stage and more! We will have children's entertainment, inflatable games and an obstacle course, story time, free face painting and free balloon twisting. The day reconvenes from 8pm-dusk for a pre-fireworks celebration. There will be food and merchandise vendors and live music. The fireworks start at Memorial Park behind the library. On the main stage: 12 noon Lindsay Rose Dance Group performing Highlander Dances 12:45pm Orono Silver Cornet Band 2pm Opening Ceremony 2:30pm LVIV Ukranian Dance Group from Oshawa 3pm Afro Beats Dance Tutorial 3:30pm African Dance and Tutorial from Fit and Dance Dimensions from Hampton 4pm Sri Lankan Dancers 4:15pm Irish Millie (Canadian Fiddle Player from Peterborough) 5pm Regae, Bollywood and Dance Energy from Dynamic Dance in Newcastle
