Have you ever heard of the new super fruit Haskap (Aka Honeyberry)? This berry has a refreshing taste all of its own but some say is a cross between a blueberry and a raspberry with a vitamin C zing. You can try different varieties of these berries for one last weekend at Buzzing Bees Adventure Farm's Haskap Berry U-Pick. Haskaps are known not only for their flavour but their health benefits. They are high in Vitamin C and A, fiber, and potassium. Specifically, they have three times the antioxidants of a blueberry, similar amount of vitamin C to an orange and almost as much potassium as a banana. They are extremely high in antioxidants such as Anthocyanins, Poly Phenols, and Bioflavanoids.
Buzzing Bees Adventure Farm is on Highway 12 just south of Sunderland, Ont. Admission is $10 per person which include two 170g containers of pick your own Haskap. Additional containers can be purchased for $5 each. Children 2 and under are included with adult admission. Also included, your family can enjoy a number of fun activities like the pedal kart track, bowling, elastic band shooting range, giant sand box, slides and more. Sorry no pets allowed.
