Two hour virtual pre-work required to attend in person session.
Training Highlights:
No cost to attend.
This evidence-based course is designed for those in frequent contact with young persons who are developing mental health problems, as well as providing first aid in mental health crisis situations.
Recognize signs that a young person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being.
Initiate conversations that encourage a person to talk about mental health or substance use problems.
Topics Covered:
Self-help strategies and young people.
Anxiety and trauma related disorders.
Feeding and eating disorders.
Non suicidal self injury.
Gambling.
Psychotic disorders.
Changes during adolescent development.
Relationship between mental health and substance use problems and adolescent development.
How to effectively communicate with young people.
