The Cinechats Film Festival is an acclaimed weekly (and year-round!) series of the best motion pictures from around the world. It's like TIFF, but right here in suburbia -- and without all the immodest hype. Instead, we have lively conversations after each film. To date, over 28,000 people have attended Cinechats, which is a not-for-profit community educational collaboration between Artsforum, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Durham College, and the Durham Council for the Arts. (Trent University in Durham has also ben a recent partner.) Cinechats was twice nominated for the region's Art of Transition Creative Award. Come see movies that will stir your emotions and make you think -- movies with award-caliber performances, movies for the artist in all of us. We've even had a world-premiere and some exclusive presentations of films before they were released commercially in North America.
