Participate virtually, or join us on October 1 at Purple Woods Conservation Area as we celebrate wellness in Durham Region! Whether you're walking/rolling or cycling, every kilometre you move will help someone in need in your community.
Your participation and fundraising efforts will allow CCD to continue to provide support services for individuals, who have needs related to aging, physical, and or mental health, and those caring for them. For 45 years, we have been helping residents throughout Durham Region live safely and independently wherever they call home.Help us support the health and wellbeing of clients across Durham Region by getting active and working toward reaching your personal fundraising and fitness goals!
There will be prizes for the top fundraisers and great fundraising incentives. All participants will receive a FREE t-shirt.

For over 45 years, the Visual Arts Centre of Clarington (VAC) has produced a diverse range of exhibitions and public programmes to connect people of all ages and backgrounds through contemporary art. This year, we are excited to welcome back our Juried Art Show Exhibition after a 2-year hiatus. Following an open call in August 2022, the VAC received over 180 submissions from artists across the Durham Region and Greater Toronto Area. Selections were narrowed down to a final 35 artists. The following exhibition showcases varied subject matter and media from painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, and video artworks created over the past four years. For the first time in the juried show’s forty-one-year history, emerging artists under the age of eighteen have been invited to exhibit their work.

Canadian Council of Muslim women will be co-hosting a free family event in association with Oshawa Public Libraries on October 1st. Mayor Dan Carter will be proclaiming Islamic history month at the event and will speak briefly. We will have various activity stations: henna, colouring, craft, and information boards made by youth. Light refreshments will be served.
October is Islamic History Month in Canada, and an opportunity to learn about Muslim contributions to the sciences, humanities, medicine, astronomy, and other disciplines that have greatly benefited civil progress.
The theme this year is to share the culinary contributions of Muslims to health, wellness, social peace, and societal harmony. Find out more at https://www.islamichistorymonth.ca/
To paraphrase the essence of Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ Hadith: “There are blessings and abundance in sharing of food” and “A Muslim is not one who sleeps with a full stomach, while their neighbours sleep hungry."

Putting it Together is a musical revue showcasing the songs of Stephen Sondheim, the most prolific composer of our time. Featuring almost 30 tunes, this show is performed by only 5 people who are thrown together in a Manhattan penthouse, thus showcasing the great talents of our cast.

THE POWER OF HUEY - The band has the pure musicianship to honor the original songs and their arrangements, while still attacking the material with a raw rock and roll ferocity. Made up of only the best Professional Musicians, The Power of Huey performs the ‘Sports’ album Note for Note and Cut for Cut – They have re-recorded the album at insight Recorders Studio and have been performing together for the last 10 years!
Sports is the third album by American rock band 'Huey Lewis and The News', released on September 15, 1983. It reached number one on the Billboard 200 on June 29, 1984, and catapulted the band to international fame. The album has been certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA. Sports was ranked number 2 on the Billboard year-end album chart for 1984. The album spawned four top-ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and a fifth went top 20. Sports also did very well internationally, where most of its singles charted in the top 40 or above in multiple countries.
