The 67th Canadian Police Curling Championship is a week-long event that will be held April 6 - 13, 2024 in Whitby. The competition mirrors the Tim Horton’s Brier as well as the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in that teams from across the country compete in provincial/territory championships to qualify for one of twelve spots in the national championships. This will be the ninth time since the Championship began in 1956 that the event will be hosted in Ontario. The teams will play an eleven- game round-robin, followed by a page playoff format that determines the national champion.
Fun Fact: In 1985, the Whitby Curling Club also hosted this same event. The Championship Team from 1985 will be returning again this year as Team Canada. (Prov of BC)
The Canadian Police Curling Association (CPCA) is non-profit; hence we must raise funds through sponsorship to fund the national. The host committee is solely responsible for the funding of their event. Equally important for each host committee is to be able to make a substantial donation to the CPCA ‘charity of choice’ Tourette Canada.
This National Championship brings police officers from across Canada to Ontario. The host committee is striving to ensure that we proudly promote the Region of Durham, the sport of curling and our various Police Services. This is an amazing opportunity to build partnerships with fellow police officers across Canada, community members and local stakeholders that we serve and protect daily.
Our desire is to promote health and wellness through; curling, comradery and relationships amongst officers and community by hosting the best Championship we can! We hope to provide our guests with incredible memories and life- long friendships.
We encourage you to visit the Canadian Police Curling Association website at www.canadianpolicecurlingchampionship.com
