Visit with the inhabitants of the pioneer village as they share their holiday customs. Enjoy Scottish Hogmanay, Welsh traditions, Victorian Christmas celebrations, Squire Jonathan's Christmas Ball, and a walk in the woods to see how Pickering's first settlers struggled in the wilderness. Backwoods Players presents the "Duffins Creek Sunday School Pageant" free with admission. Special admission fees apply. Advanced tickets on sale starting June 1, 2019 online and in person at the Pickering Museum Village Gift Shop.

JOURNEY TO THE NORTH POLE!
Join us for this magical trip where York-Durham Heritage Railway will be providing service to the North Pole onboard THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride this holiday season.
The magical story comes to life starting in our enchanted Christmas tent with a magical tree lighting followed with the train one hour t round-trip train ride to the North Pole. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, with singers and dancers passengers will relive the magic of the story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™.
Once onboard, hot chocolate and treats are served as passengers read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers greet passengers at the North Pole and then board the train, where everyone is given the first gift of Christmas. Pajamas for children of all ages is encouraged!
