Summer is almost over... and so is the #DRIFFDriveIn. We're wrapping up the season with two powerful films directed by Indigenous women.
Marking Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we present Darlene Naponse's Falls Around Her as our last feature presentation of the season. The film stars Tantoo Cardinal as Mary Birchbark, an Anishinaabe musician whose fame causes unexpected turmoil when she returns to her Northern Ontario reserve to reconnect with the land and her roots.
In collaboration with the DRIFF team, Falls Around Her director Darlene Naponse has personally selected the short film Chocolate, directed by Charlene Moore, to open the evening.
