This event commemorates the celebration of Canadian cinema at the National Canada Film Day eventahead of the Tamil Genocide Education Week, offering audiences a powerful cinematic experience followed by an insightful panel discussion.
Ray of Hope is a groundbreaking documentary directed by Ryan Singh and Nikila Cole, offering an intimate look into the experiences of Tamil immigrants who fled war-torn Sri Lanka. The film explores theintergenerational traumaof war survivors while celebrating their resilience, strength, and hope for a better future. Set against the backdrop of the Tamil diaspora following the Sri Lankan armed conflict, Ray of Hope captures human resilience, spirit, and hope. This visually stunning film is a testament to the power of storytelling and continues to garner 16 prestigious awards and 68 nominations across 22 film festivals worldwide.
