Durham Region is holding three information sessions in January for college and university students who are part of Black communities and looking for employment this summer. Come find out how a summer student position at the Region can set you up for success in your future chosen career.
Sessions will provide information on the:
- Specific criteria for summer students.
- Job application portal.
- Hiring process.
- Summer student positions currently available.
Information Session Dates:
- Session One: January 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. (virtual)
- Session Two: January 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. (Durham Region, Social Service Office, 200 John Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 2B4)
- Session Three: January 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. (virtual)

Twice a month, join members and non-members for a coffee to discuss business-focused topics which will be posted in advance in the Facebook group. For members, by members, this long-standing program continues its primary objective to support the business community and give them an opportunity to network and refer.

Do you want your kids to dive into creativity? Are they looking for exciting new adventures? Campers are encouraged to interact with art in fun and playful ways as they share their thoughts, and express their ideas through art. We will get hands on with some messy and imaginative art making activities that will truly inspire all budding artists.
Here’s how Camp will look this year:
- Drop-off between 8:45am and 9am
- Small camp cohort
- Mask friendly camp for staff, volunteers and participants
- Rigorous cleaning throughout the day
- Pick-up at 4pm

This class is filled with art making that inspires creativity and imagination! Each week will be a new adventure with sculptures, paintings, drawings, printmaking, and more using artist quality materials!
